NCTS PT-1 / PT-3 Ground Antenna & PT Power Substation (Naval Base Guam / MCB Camp Blaz)
Overview
Mass excavation with MEC/UXO mitigation, soil improvement, and complex radome foundation/ring wall construction; dedicated power substation with long-lead equipment management.
Detailed Scope
- Earthwork & Ground Improvement: 10 ft over-excavation, engineered backfill; boring & pressure grouting at substation.
- Foundations & Ring Walls: Ten-foot-thick, 98-ft dia heavily reinforced foundations; 24-inch-thick ring walls (18’-9.5” high) with embedded anchor systems; tight tolerance survey and casting.
- Radome Installation: Night lift operations with 80+ crew; precise sequencing for safe inflation/anchoring.
- Power Substation: Reinforced foundations, duct banks, HV transformers, switchgear, grounding, controls; designed for reliable, redundant power.
- Long-Lead Procurement: 15.5kV switchgear, 1500 kVA transformers, dual 500/550 kVA UPS, CRAC/PTAC/AHU/ACCUs (60–70+ week lead times); proactive submittals & vendor coordination.
Safety & Compliance
MEC/UXO clearance protocols for all soil disturbance.
